Three Seniors Earn Top Honors For Turkey Run's Graduation
Kaleigh Basan has been named valedictorian and Jeff Woods and Kendall Davies are co-salutatorians for the Turkey Run High School Class of 2013. Graduation ceremonies will be held in the high school gymnasium Saturday, May 25 at 11 a.m. with 36 students receiving their diplomas.

KALEIGH BASAN
Basan, the daughter of Rob and Shannon Belcher, of Bloomingdale has been a member of the band, academic super bowl teams, volleyball and softball teams, National Honor Society, student council, drama and 4-H. This year, she participated in the band solo and ensemble contest and received a silver medal in the Division 1 state competition.
She will be graduating with an academic honors diploma and has earned her academic honors letter three times. Other academic awards include the Presidents Education Award and the Bausch and Lomb Honorary Award. She was also named the Elks Teen-of-the Month for September.
Basan will be attending Purdue University to major in pharmacy and minor in chemistry. She hopes to become a small-town pharmacist.

JEFF WOODS
Co-Salutatorian Jeff Woods is the son of Dan and Ramona Woods of Tangier. He has been a four-year letter winner for football, basketball and baseball. He has been named all-conference five times and honorable mention all-conference three times. He has also been a ten-year member of 4-H and a member of National Honor Society. He has earned three academic excellence award and many class awards. Selected by his peers, he was named as the Daughters of American Revolution (DAR) Good Citizen. He was named the Elks Teen-of-the Month for January.
He plans to attend college to play baseball and study business management and then return to the family farm to continue the family business.

KENDALL DAVIES
Co-Salutatorian Kendall Davies is the daughter of Shane Davies of Bloomingdale and Tami Davies of Rockville. She has been a four-year letter winner for volleyball and has played basketball three years. She was named all-conference for volleyball her junior and senior years. Her other activities include student council, National Honor Society and a two-year member of yearbook. She has served as business manager of the yearbook this year and won second place in sports feature writing for the state yearbook Harvey awards. She has also been a ten-year member of 4-H and plays Crossroads of America (COA) volleyball.
Davies plans to attend Ball State University to major in communications and journalism.

Rockville High School To Hold 135th Commencement Exercises
Rockville High School will hold its 135 Commencement Exercises Saturday, May 25 at 4 p.m. in the Elementary Gymnasium.
The 60 graduating seniors of the Class of 2013 will receive their diplomas and hear addresses from valedictorian Harrison Becker and salutatorian Gary Ulrich during the ceremonies.

HARRISON BECKER
Becker is the son of Vaughn and Julie Becker of Rockville and will graduate with a 4.15 grade-point average as an AP Scholar. He has been on the Distinguished Honor Roll for four years and has recorded perfect attendance all four years of high school. He has earned the Principals’ Leadership Award, the John A. Linebarger Citizenship Award and was a 2013 Indianapolis Star Academic All-Star honoree.
Becker has served as president of the National Honor Society, Interact Club, Student Government and Student Council. He has been a member of the Math Academic Super Bowl team and captain of the English, Social Studies and Interdisciplinary teams. He is a member of the high school band and an All-District Band participant, earning the John Philip Sousa Award and the Parke County Band Scholarship.
He has also been a member of the Spell Bowl team, Drama Club and Yearbook editor. He has been a member of the Parke County Youth Soccer Association and the track and field team.
Becker has been accepted to Harvard University, where he will study science.

GARY ULRICH
Ulrich is the son of Dr. Gary and Kathleen Ulrich.
He has been on the Exceptional Honor Roll and a member of the band the past two years. He was a member of the State Runner-Up basketball team and earned Academic All-State honors, as well as All-Wabash River Conference for two years and selected for the Top 60 Workout.
An Eagle Scout, Ulrich has volunteered at the Light House Mission and Bethany house and is a member of St. Benedict’s Parish.
Ulrich will be attending Wabash College to study Pre-Med and play basketball for the Little Giants.

Riverton Parke To Graduate 80 Seniors At 27th Commencement
Riverton Parke High School will hold its 27th Commencement Exercises Saturday, May 25 at 2 p.m. in the high school gymnasium.
Eighty members of the Class of 2013 will receive their diplomas and hear addresses from valedictorian Kori Wood and salutatorian Quinten Carter.

KORI WOOD
Kori Wood is the daughter of Bill and Sandy Wood of rural Rosedale. She has two older sisters, Jesi and Laci.
She is a four year member of Academic Excellence, treasurer of National Honor Society, senior class vice-president, the DAR Good Citizen for the county, and was a Hoosier Girls State delegate this past summer. Kori is the 2013 Lillly Endowment recipient.
She is a four year girls’ basketball letter winner, and was named honorable mention for the All-State Academic team. She has managed track and volleyball for three years as well.
Next year she will be attending Purdue University to study pre-pharmacy.

QUINTEN CARTER
Quinten Carter is the son of Brad and Teresa Carter of Rosedale.
He has participated in Academic Bowl on the science team for the past three years, and the Social Studies division this year, and is a member of Academic Excellence.
He will be attending Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis to study biology on a pre-medicine track.
